Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Kampala or Entebbe, where you’ll meet your professional safari guide for a briefing before departing for southwestern Uganda.
En route, stop at the Uganda Equator, one of the country’s most famous landmarks, where you can take memorable photographs and browse locally crafted souvenirs. Continue to a traditional craft village renowned for handmade drums, baskets, wood carvings, and other authentic Ugandan products.
Arrive at Lake Mburo National Park in time for lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive. This beautiful park is home to Uganda’s largest population of zebras as well as impalas, elands, topis, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, and more than 350 bird species.
As the sun sets over the acacia-dotted savannah, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning drive through Lake Mburo before continuing your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
Travel through the spectacular landscapes of southwestern Uganda, where rolling hills are covered with tea estates, banana plantations, terraced farms, and dense montane forests. The scenic drive offers countless opportunities for photography while showcasing the region’s rich agricultural heritage.
Arrive in Bwindi during the late afternoon, check into your lodge, and spend the evening relaxing in preparation for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.
Today brings the highlight of your safari—an unforgettable encounter with the endangered Mountain Gorillas.
After an early breakfast, report to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for a briefing before setting off with experienced rangers into the dense rainforest. Trekking can take anywhere between 2 and 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family.
Once located, you’ll spend a magical one hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, groom, play, and interact within their natural habitat—a truly life-changing wildlife experience.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of Africa’s richest ecosystems, home to over 120 mammal species, 350 bird species, numerous butterflies, and many Albertine Rift endemics found nowhere else on Earth.
After the trek, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Following breakfast, explore the famous Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, celebrated worldwide for its rare population of tree-climbing lions.
Enjoy a game drive through open savannah and giant fig tree forests while searching for lions resting high in the branches. Along the way, you may also encounter elephants, buffaloes, topis, Uganda kob, hyenas, and numerous bird species.
The Ishasha sector remains one of Uganda’s most remote and rewarding safari destinations, offering exceptional wildlife viewing away from the crowds.
Return to your lodge in the evening to relax after an exciting day in the wilderness.
Rise early for a morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, one of Uganda’s premier wildlife viewing areas and an important hunting ground for lions.
Search for elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, hyenas, Uganda kob, waterbucks, bushbucks, and many other animals roaming the expansive savannah.
After lunch, enjoy an unforgettable boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George. The cruise offers close-up views of enormous pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and one of East Africa’s richest concentrations of water birds, including African fish eagles, pelicans, kingfishers, cormorants, and saddle-billed storks.
Return to your lodge for your final evening in the African wilderness.
After breakfast, begin the scenic drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, passing through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, rolling hills, and vibrant rural communities.
Stop along the way for lunch and, if time permits, browse local craft markets for last-minute souvenirs before continuing to your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
Your safari concludes with unforgettable memories of Uganda’s remarkable wildlife, spectacular landscapes, and extraordinary mountain gorilla encounter.
