From the endless savannahs of the Serengeti and the dramatic beauty of the Ngorongoro Crater to the elephant-rich plains of Tarangire, this safari offers unforgettable wildlife encounters and spectacular scenery at every turn.
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up in Arusha, where you’ll meet your professional safari guide before departing for Tarangire National Park. The journey takes you through picturesque countryside and traditional villages before entering one of Tanzania’s most scenic wildlife reserves.
Upon arrival, enjoy your first exciting game drive through landscapes dotted with towering baobab trees and the life-giving Tarangire River. The park is famous for its large elephant herds, often numbering in the hundreds, as well as lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, and more than 500 species of birds. After a picnic lunch inside the park, continue exploring before heading to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Following breakfast, depart Tarangire and travel toward the legendary Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the route, enjoy spectacular views of volcanic highlands, rolling plains, and traditional Maasai communities.
Upon entering the Serengeti, begin an afternoon game drive across its endless grasslands, famous for supporting one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Keep your camera ready as you search for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, leopards, buffaloes, and vast herds of wildebeests and gazelles. Arrive at your lodge or luxury tented camp in time for dinner and a peaceful evening surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
After an early breakfast, spend the entire day exploring the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. Accompanied by your experienced guide, venture through different ecosystems in search of the legendary Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and black rhinoceros—along with cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, hippos, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species.
If visiting during the migration season, you’ll have the opportunity to witness part of the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration, where millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles traverse the Serengeti ecosystem in search of fresh grazing. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic location before continuing your wildlife adventure throughout the afternoon. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Enjoy one final morning game drive as you leave the Serengeti, offering another opportunity to observe predators returning from their night hunts and herbivores grazing in the cool morning air.
Continue toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its spectacular scenery and remarkable biodiversity. Upon reaching the crater rim, stop to admire breathtaking panoramic views of the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera before checking into your lodge overlooking the crater. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing while enjoying one of Africa’s most scenic safari settings.
Following an early breakfast, descend approximately 600 metres into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s greatest natural wildlife sanctuaries. The crater floor is home to an incredible diversity of animals, making it one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five within a single day.
Explore the crater’s forests, grasslands, lakes, and swamps while searching for black rhinos, elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, flamingos, and numerous bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the famous hippo pool before ascending the crater walls in the afternoon and returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, bid farewell to Tanzania’s spectacular wilderness as you begin your journey back to Arusha. Travel through the scenic highlands, passing coffee farms, local villages, and picturesque landscapes that showcase the beauty of northern Tanzania.
Arrive in Arusha during the afternoon, where your guide will transfer you to your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport, bringing your unforgettable Northern Tanzania safari to a memorable conclusion.
