Experience the best of Uganda’s wilderness on this exciting three-day safari to Murchison Falls National Park. Travel through scenic countryside, enjoy an optional rhino tracking experience at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, witness the breathtaking power of the mighty Murchison Falls, embark on thrilling wildlife game drives, and cruise along the River Nile to encounter hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and countless bird species in their natural habitat.
Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Kampala following a briefing by your professional guide. Journey north through the historic Luwero Triangle, passing rural communities and beautiful countryside as you head toward Uganda’s largest national park.
En route, you have the option to visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the country’s only wild rhino conservation area. Accompanied by experienced rangers, enjoy a guided walking safari to observe southern white rhinos in their natural habitat. This optional activity provides a rare opportunity to complete the famous “Big Five” safari experience in Uganda.
Continue to Masindi for lunch before entering Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, visit the Top of Murchison Falls, where the mighty River Nile squeezes through a narrow 7-metre gorge before plunging 43 metres into the Devil’s Cauldron. The thunderous roar and spectacular views make this one of Uganda’s most iconic natural attractions.
Afterward, proceed to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, set out on an exciting morning game drive across the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park, one of Uganda’s richest wildlife habitats.
Accompanied by your experienced safari guide, search for lions, elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, Cape buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hartebeests, oribis, waterbucks, warthogs, and, if you’re fortunate, the elusive leopard. The park is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with over 450 recorded bird species.
Return to the lodge for lunch before embarking on an unforgettable afternoon boat cruise along the River Nile to the base of Murchison Falls.
This relaxing cruise offers exceptional wildlife viewing as large pods of hippos bask in the water while massive Nile crocodiles rest along the riverbanks. Watch elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes come to drink, while colorful kingfishers, bee-eaters, fish eagles, and other water birds fill the skies. Lucky visitors may even spot the rare and prehistoric-looking shoebill stork.
As the boat approaches the base of the falls, witness the incredible force of the Nile as millions of litres of water crash through the narrow gorge—a truly unforgettable spectacle.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your lodge while taking in the peaceful surroundings of the Nile before beginning your journey back to Kampala.
Drive through Uganda’s scenic countryside with a stop for lunch en route, arriving in Kampala in the late afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your memorable wildlife safari.
