Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Trevor Tour Safaris Africa guide and transferred to your hotel.
Depending on your arrival time, you may visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, where you’ll enjoy your first introduction to Uganda’s remarkable wildlife, including rescued lions, giraffes, chimpanzees, reptiles, and numerous indigenous bird species.
Spend the remainder of the day relaxing and preparing for your safari adventure.
After breakfast, transfer to the shores of Lake Victoria for a scenic boat ride to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, home to rescued orphaned chimpanzees.
Upon arrival, you’ll receive an informative briefing about chimpanzee conservation before observing these intelligent primates during their feeding sessions. From specially designed viewing platforms, you’ll have excellent opportunities to photograph and learn about their behavior in a natural island environment.
After lunch, return by boat to Entebbe and enjoy a relaxing evening at your hotel.
Following breakfast, depart Entebbe for western Uganda, travelling through beautiful countryside toward Fort Portal, a picturesque town nestled beneath the legendary Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the Mountains of the Moon.
The route passes rolling tea plantations, fertile farmland, and scenic crater landscapes before arriving at Kibale Forest National Park, one of Africa’s richest tropical rainforests.
Check into your lodge and spend the evening relaxing amidst the sounds of the forest.
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure through Kibale Forest.
Kibale boasts the highest concentration of primates in East Africa, with 13 different species including chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys.
In the afternoon, visit the renowned Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed conservation area famous for exceptional birdwatching, monkeys, butterflies, and rich wetland biodiversity.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive through the crater lakes region before continuing to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most visited wildlife reserve.
The journey offers spectacular views of the Rwenzori Mountains, lush valleys, and expansive savannah landscapes. Upon entering the park, enjoy a game drive as you make your way to your lodge, searching for elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks, and numerous antelope species.
Rise early for an unforgettable morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, where predators such as lions and leopards are often spotted alongside elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, hyenas, and many other wildlife species.
After lunch, enjoy one of Uganda’s finest wildlife experiences—a relaxing boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its enormous concentration of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and hundreds of resident and migratory bird species.
Return to your lodge in the evening.
This morning, visit the spectacular Kyambura Gorge, often referred to as the “Valley of Apes.” Descend into the lush tropical forest in search of its resident chimpanzees while enjoying the incredible scenery and birdlife found within this hidden ecosystem.
Later, continue your journey through southwestern Uganda toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing rolling hills, terraced farms, and traditional villages.
Arrive in the evening and settle into your lodge on the edge of the rainforest.
Today brings the highlight of your safari—a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with the endangered Mountain Gorillas.
After breakfast, attend a ranger briefing before beginning your guided trek through Bwindi’s ancient rainforest. Depending on the gorillas’ location, the trek may take anywhere between 2 and 8 hours, traversing dense vegetation and mountainous terrain.
Upon locating the gorilla family, you’ll spend a magical one hour observing these remarkable primates as they feed, interact, groom one another, and care for their young.
After your unforgettable experience, return to your lodge to relax and celebrate an extraordinary achievement.
After breakfast, travel to the spectacular Lake Bunyonyi, often described as Uganda’s most beautiful lake.
Surrounded by terraced hills and dotted with over 29 picturesque islands, Lake Bunyonyi provides the perfect setting to relax after your gorilla trek. Enjoy an optional canoe ride, birdwatching, village visits, or simply unwind while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Following breakfast, begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe.
Along the way, stop at the Uganda Equator for photographs and souvenir shopping before visiting the famous Mpigi Royal Drum Makers, where you’ll learn about Uganda’s traditional drum-making craftsmanship.
Enjoy lunch en route before arriving in Kampala or Entebbe. Depending on your departure schedule, you may enjoy a brief city tour before being transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
Your safari concludes with unforgettable memories of Uganda’s extraordinary wildlife, magnificent landscapes, and incredible primate encounters.
