Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or Entebbe after a briefing by your professional safari guide. Travel southwest through Uganda’s picturesque countryside toward Lake Mburo National Park.
Along the way, stop at a local craft village renowned for handmade drums, wood carvings, baskets, and traditional souvenirs. Continue to the Uganda Equator, where you’ll have the opportunity to take memorable photographs while standing in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
Arrive at Lake Mburo National Park in time for lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive. The park is home to Uganda’s largest population of zebras as well as impalas, elands, buffaloes, topis, waterbucks, warthogs, and numerous bird species.
Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive or simply admire the beautiful landscapes before departing for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
The journey takes you through the stunning highlands of southwestern Uganda, where rolling hills are covered with banana plantations, tea estates, terraced farms, and lush forests. The breathtaking scenery offers countless opportunities for photography along the way.
Arrive at Bwindi in the late afternoon, check into your lodge, and relax as you prepare for the exciting gorilla trekking adventure awaiting you the following day.
Today marks the highlight of your safari.
Following an early breakfast, report to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for a briefing by experienced park rangers. You’ll learn about gorilla conservation, trekking guidelines, and safety procedures before being assigned to a habituated gorilla family.
Your trek through the dense rainforest may last anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. The hike takes you through thick vegetation, bamboo forests, and steep mountain slopes while your expert guides interpret the incredible biodiversity of Bwindi.
Once you find the gorillas, you’ll spend an unforgettable one hour observing these magnificent primates as they feed, play, groom one another, and care for their young. It is one of Africa’s most rewarding wildlife experiences.
Bwindi is also one of East Africa’s richest ecosystems, home to more than 120 mammal species, over 350 bird species, numerous butterflies, reptiles, and many endemic plants found nowhere else on Earth.
After your trek, return to your lodge for a well-deserved evening of relaxation.
After breakfast, depart Bwindi for the southern Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its rare population of tree-climbing lions.
Enjoy a scenic drive through remote wilderness before embarking on a game drive in search of lions resting in giant fig trees, as well as elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, topis, and numerous other wildlife species.
The Ishasha sector is also an important wildlife migration corridor and offers a quieter, more exclusive safari experience compared to other parts of the park.
Later, continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Rise early for a morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, one of Uganda’s finest wildlife viewing areas. Keep an eye out for lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, hyenas, warthogs, and large herds of Uganda kob grazing across the open savannah.
In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the spectacular Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway linking Lake George and Lake Edward. The cruise offers exceptional opportunities to view hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and countless bird species including African fish eagles, kingfishers, pelicans, and saddle-billed storks.
Return to your lodge in the evening after another unforgettable day on safari.
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe, enjoying Uganda’s beautiful countryside one last time.
Depending on your schedule, you may stop for lunch and browse local craft markets for handmade souvenirs before being transferred to your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
Your safari concludes with unforgettable memories of Uganda’s remarkable wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and incredible mountain gorillas.
