Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Arusha after meeting your professional safari guide for a briefing. Travel through the scenic countryside toward Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s sixth-largest national park and one of the country’s hidden wildlife gems.
Upon entering the park, enjoy your first exciting game drive through landscapes dominated by ancient baobab trees, seasonal swamps, and the Tarangire River, which attracts an abundance of wildlife throughout the year. Tarangire is renowned for hosting some of East Africa’s largest elephant herds, and you’ll also have opportunities to spot lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, and over 500 bird species.
After a picnic lunch inside the park, continue exploring before heading to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart Tarangire and journey toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park, passing through the picturesque highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the route, enjoy breathtaking views of rolling hills, volcanic landscapes, and traditional Maasai villages.
Upon entering Serengeti National Park, begin an afternoon game drive through its vast open plains, where abundant wildlife roams freely. Depending on the season, you may witness enormous herds of wildebeests and zebras, while predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards patrol the grasslands. Continue your safari en route to your lodge or luxury tented camp for dinner and overnight.
Spend the entire day exploring one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations. After an early breakfast, set out with packed lunch for a full-day game drive through different regions of the Serengeti, maximizing your opportunities to observe its incredible biodiversity.
The Serengeti supports one of the world’s highest concentrations of large mammals and is home to the legendary Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros. During the migration season, the endless plains come alive as millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles move in search of fresh grazing, creating one of nature’s most spectacular events. Throughout the day, your experienced guide will help track wildlife while sharing fascinating insights into the park’s ecosystems and animal behavior. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive as you leave the Serengeti, offering one last chance to observe wildlife during the cool morning hours when animals are most active.
Continue toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its remarkable landscapes and rich wildlife. Upon reaching the crater rim, stop to admire breathtaking panoramic views across the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera before continuing to your lodge overlooking the crater. Spend the remainder of the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the exciting crater safari the following morning.
Rise early for breakfast before descending approximately 600 metres into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife habitats. The crater floor supports an incredible concentration of wildlife, making it one of the best places in Africa to encounter the Big Five within a single game drive.
Spend the morning exploring forests, grasslands, lakes, and swamps while searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, hippos, flamingos, and the endangered black rhinoceros. Enjoy a picnic lunch beside the famous hippo pool before ascending the crater walls and beginning your scenic drive back to Arusha. Arrive in the late afternoon, where your guide will transfer you to your hotel or airport, marking the end of your unforgettable Tanzanian safari.
