Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Arusha after meeting your professional safari guide for a comprehensive safari briefing. Travel through northern Tanzania’s scenic countryside before arriving at Tarangire National Park, famous for its majestic baobab trees and one of East Africa’s largest elephant populations.
Embark on your first exciting game drive as you explore the park’s diverse habitats surrounding the Tarangire River, the park’s lifeline during the dry season. Keep an eye out for elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas, ostriches, and a remarkable variety of birdlife. After a picnic lunch inside the park, continue exploring before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart Tarangire for the nearby Lake Manyara National Park, a compact but incredibly diverse park nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
Enjoy a full-day game drive through lush groundwater forests, acacia woodlands, open grasslands, and the shores of the alkaline lake. Lake Manyara is famous for its elusive tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, giraffes, and an impressive variety of birds including pelicans, flamingos, storks, and African fish eagles. Visit scenic viewpoints overlooking the lake before retiring to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Following breakfast, begin your journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park, travelling through the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of volcanic highlands, Maasai villages, and expansive grasslands that characterize Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.
Upon entering the Serengeti, embark on an afternoon game drive through its world-famous plains. Search for lions resting beneath acacia trees, cheetahs scanning the horizon, elephants roaming the grasslands, and countless antelope species grazing across the savannah. Arrive at your lodge or luxury tented camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Spend the entire day exploring the magnificent Serengeti, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. Accompanied by your expert guide, venture deep into the park in search of the legendary Big Five while observing the incredible interactions between predators and prey.
Depending on the season, you may witness the world-famous Great Wildebeest Migration, where millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles move across the plains in search of fresh grazing. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the park before continuing your afternoon game drive through different ecosystems that support an extraordinary diversity of wildlife and birdlife.
After breakfast, enjoy one final morning game drive while departing Serengeti National Park. Early mornings offer excellent opportunities to observe predators returning from their hunts and herbivores grazing in the cool morning light.
Continue toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping along the way to admire breathtaking views and learn about the traditions of the Maasai communities who coexist with wildlife within the conservation area. Arrive at your lodge perched near the crater rim, where you’ll enjoy spectacular panoramic views and a relaxing evening before tomorrow’s crater safari.
Rise early for breakfast before descending approximately 600 metres into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations.
Spend the day exploring this unique ecosystem, home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the continent. Search for black rhinos, lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, jackals, flamingos, and numerous bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before ascending the crater walls in the afternoon and returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Following breakfast, begin your scenic drive back to Arusha through the beautiful highlands of northern Tanzania. Along the route, pass coffee plantations, traditional villages, and rolling countryside while reflecting on the incredible wildlife experiences of the past week.
Arrive in Arusha in the afternoon, where your guide will transfer you to your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey, marking the end of your unforgettable Tanzania Wildlife Adventure.
